Dear Friends,

We invite you to join us tomorrow, June 6th, in celebrating the life and vision of Gail V. Wells, founder of Buffalo Freedom Gardens! This special event honors her tireless work in food justice, education, and community empowerment. We are thrilled for your participation in this event that brings together gardeners, activists, and families through hands-on activities, flower planting, urban farming workshops, arts & crafts, live performances, and shared stories of resilience and collective growth.

The celebration is taking place rain or shine, so dress for the weather.
We will have music and teaching from West African drummers, plant giveaways, food and fun family activities!

Where: The Gail V. Wells Freedom Food Forest at JFK Park, next to the tennis court at East Eagle and Pine St., Buffalo, NY 14204.

How to get to the Gail V. Wells Freedom Food Forest:

Look for our Buffalo Freedom Gardens banner at the corner of Clinton and Pine, as well as the main entrance at the intersection of East Eagle and Pine. Parking is available on East Eagle, Pine, and Clinton streets. For anyone taking the bus, the closest route is #2 on Clinton Street.
